To all our valued customers,
We are excited to share some news with you from Wellington that underpins our commitment to expanding our offering in the region.
In February last year, we completed the merger of the LG Anderson Transport and Anderson & Flowers Warehousing operations in Wellington under the Booth’s Logistics umbrella including all plant, equipment and personnel. This was done to bolster our service capabilities, increase our presence in the area and to complement our existing Booth’s facility based in Seaview on Gracefield Road.
As part of the acquisition the properties on Peterkin Street were sold and we are pleased to announce that we have secured new additional properties in close proximity to each other. As a result, we are needing to vacate the warehouse premise (19 Peterkin Street) on the 31st of January 2024 and the cross-dock transport facility (21 Peterkin Street) on the 31st of May 2024.
In light of the recent developments, we are excited to share our growth plans for the Wellington region which remains a key cog in our wider nationwide warehouse and transport network:
Crawford Carrying warehouse facility and container cartage:
Over recent months, we have worked with Tony and Kirsten Crawford on a plan to assimilate their business into our Wellington based operation.
Late last year we reached an agreement to lease their 3,700m2 warehousing facility located at 8 Toop Street in Seaview. In addition, from 1st March the Crawford container transport operations will be absorbed into our established Wellington businesses with Tony, Kirsten and their team joining the Booth’s Logistics family.
This will not only further strengthen our Wellington transport and warehousing capabilities, but also provide Crawford Carrying’s existing customers, access to our wider nationwide logistics networks and service offerings.
Expansion and centralisation of warehousing sites:
After the move to the Toop Street site in December, over the coming months we have also made arrangements to add three additional neighbouring warehouse and cross-dock sites. These later additions will collectively give us a total warehousing space at Toop Street of approx. 15,000m2 and allow us to develop a central cross-dock facility that supports all four adjacent sites. Please note from 1st February onwards, our primary warehousing location in Wellington will be 109 Port Road, Seaview.
Strengthen our container handling resources:
CentrePort is an important hub for our import/export clients in the region and with the additions of firstly the LG Anderson and now Crawford’s container handling fleet and equipment, will give us increased container handling capacity to work hand in glove with our increased warehousing resources.
We appreciate your ongoing support as we work through the various moving parts associated with scaling up from three to six sites in the region. We are confident that the hard work invested in this expansion will be worthwhile, further strengthening our offering in the region and paving the way for future growth for our customer base.
If you have any questions or require further information about these updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks again for choosing Booth’s Logistics.
